Monthly Update
We want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We know that with a new year comes new goals and resolutions. The same goes for all of us here at Sports Village. We hope that each one of us can make 2009 a great year!
The Board of Directors has set many goals for the upcoming year. Some of them are:
1. Build up the reserves. In an effort to help build the reserve we are trying to save in as many areas as possible. As you will notice in the January statement there are payment coupons included. The coupons are for you to keep and mail in each month with your payment. There will be no monthly statement sent out in the future. There will be a monthly newsletter. It will be accessed either at the clubhouse r on the internet @ sportsvillagehoa.blogspot.com This website will also contain other information as well as pictures of the project. This website is currently up and running and will be continuously updated. Feel free to check it out.
2. Update the workout room. Many of you may be aware that the treadmill has been down. We will be updating the workout room with anew treadmill and a few otr items that will hopefully be beneficial to each of you.
3. Landscaping Over the next year we will be assessing the landscaping and weighing our options to try to conserve water. Some of the options are updating the entire sprinkler system or changing some landscaping over to desert landscaping. We hope that we can get a good idea for what will conserve water as well as keep the beauty of Sports Village.
Due to the amount of delinquencies we are going to tighten up our delinquent policy.
Any unpaid balance as of the 15th of the month will be subject to a $25.00 late fee.
Any unpaid balance as of the 1st of the following month will be denied access to the facilities/ (ie. If January dues are not paid by February 1)
If dues are still delinquent as of the 1st of the next month, homeowner will be given until the 15th to bring current before a Lien is placed on the unit. (ie. If January dues are not paid by March 15)
Also, all delinquent units will be posted on the Sports Village Website. This delinquent policy will be effective January 1, 2009.

Holiday Season Here
Clubhouse Holiday Hours posted in the December Monthly Newsletter
December 24, 2008 Open @ 8:00am Close @ 3:00pm
December 25, 2008 Closed
December 31, 2008 Open @ 8:00am Close @ 7:00 pm
(Note) This is a time for employees to have off to enjoy with their families.
Also, the lap pool and jacuzzi will be closed.
LAP POOL
The federal government mandated all pools and jacuzzi spas be brought into "anti-entrapment" compliance by December 20, 2008. With the re-model at the main pool last spring, Sports Village brought those pools into compliance. This December the LAP Pool and Jacuzzi will need to be closed for construction to make them comply. A slight water leak in the jacuzzi will also mean that it will be re-plastered as well, as part of the project.

Annual Homeowners Meeting 11-1-08
The annual homeowners meeting was held at the Holiday Inn on Bluff Street, November 1, 2008. Approximately fifty were in attendance. The 2009 Annual budget was presented along with the results of the new Board Member election. 2009 appears to be a year to re-build the reserves, as no major projects are planned other than the federally mandated upgrade of the drains in the Lap Pool and Lap Pool jacuzzi.
The homeowners dues were raised effective Dec.1 2008 to $210.00/month. This is the first increase in four years and amounts to an additional $15/month or 7.7% increase. A new heater for the kiddie pool recommended as well as some new exercise equipment. An evaluation of the current (old) sprinkler system will be a focus with water cost savings being a priority goal for 2009 and beyond.
